General Alarm and Public Address Systems
E.S.S. has been designing and providing Public Address and General Emergency Alarm systems for over 15 years on all types of vessels. From passenger ferries to off shore supply vessels we have implemented the latest in technology to provide PA/GA systems.
The E.S.S. Public Address systems can be single zone or multi-zone to fit the client's needs. It can be integrated with a loudhailer or talkback system if needed also. Integrating the General Emergency Alarm with the PA system, requires backup equipment to meet the guidelines of the USCG MTN: 03-95 and ABS rules; however the integrated system is more efficient and cost effective than separate systems. On most vessels both systems are required, therefore it makes sense to combine the two into one system.
E.S.S. utilizes equipment and devices (speakers, strobes, beacons, etc.) that are built to UL standards and can be used in a marine environment. General Emergency Alarm is initialized by a brass General Alarm contact maker but utilizes tone generators amplified through the Public Address system's speakers. E.S.S.'s speaker layout is designed to meet loudness requirements of the various regulatory bodies.
E.S.S. systems meet the following regulatory requirements:
- 46 CFR 113.25 (Sub-chapter J)
- 46 CFR 120.550 & 121.602 (Sub-chapter K)
- 46 CFR 183.550 & 184.602 (Sub-chapter T)
- ABS Rules for Steel Vessels Part 4, Chap. 8, Sec. 2
- ABS Rules for Steel Vessels under 90Meters Part 4, Chap. 6, Sec. 2
- ABS Guide for Passenger Vessels Section 5, Sub-section 13
- SOLAS Chap. II and III requirements.
